Friends, Chat & Voice — Player Guide

Short guide for players. Red highlights in screenshots show the most important buttons.

Requirement: Your character must be level 7 or higher to use the friend system.
Chat & voice on RushMU: Text chat and voice chat work through the Friend System only. Group rooms support up to 16 players. The feature is open for testing — anyone level 7+ can try it.
  • Add friends, open a chat room, and invite others to build a group (up to 16 in one room).
  • Talk anywhere on any map — you do not need to keep the Friend panel open while voice is on.
  • After you click Talk, click the map to focus your character, press F to hide the friend window, and keep playing while you chat.

On This Page

Click a button to jump to that section:

Open the Friend Panel

Press F on your keyboard to open or close the friend window.

Add Friends

There are two ways to add someone:

From the friend panel
  1. Press F to open the friend panel.
  2. Click the Add button at the bottom.
  3. Type the player name and confirm.
Friend panel with Add button highlighted Add button in the friend panel.
From the D menu on another player
  1. Press D to open the command menu.
  2. Choose Add Friend from the menu.
  3. Point at the player you want to add.
Add Friend option in the D menu Select Add Friend from the menu.
D menu aimed at another player Then target the player while Add Friend is selected.

Accept a Friend Request

When someone adds you, you get a short message in chat (the friend panel does not open by itself).

  1. Press F to open the friend panel.
  2. Open the Windows List tab (third tab).
  3. Find Friend Request: PlayerName and double-click it.
  4. Click Yes to accept or No to decline.
Friend request confirmation popup Accept or decline after opening the request from Windows List.

Open a Chat Room

  1. Press F to open the friend panel.
  2. Click a friend in the list (or double-click the friend to open chat directly).
  3. Click the Talk button at the bottom of the friend panel. This opens the text chat window.
Friend selected and Talk button highlighted Select a friend, then click Talk to open the chat room.

You can have more than one chat room open. Each room appears in the Windows List tab of the friend panel.

Choose Microphone and Speakers

If you have more than one microphone or speaker, pick the devices you want for voice chat before using Talk.

  1. Press ESC to open the game menu.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Open the Audio tab.
  4. In the Voice Chat section, choose your Microphone and Speakers from the lists.
Options Audio tab with Voice Chat microphone and speaker settings Voice Chat section in Options → Audio — microphone and speaker selection.

Use Voice Chat

  1. Open a chat room with a friend (see above).
  2. Click the Talk button at the bottom of the chat window to turn your microphone on.
  3. Click Talk again to turn your microphone off.
Talk button in the chat room window Talk button in the chat room — green when on, red when off.
Talk while playing (friend panel hidden): You do not need to keep the Friend panel open for voice to work. Set up your group, turn on Talk, then click anywhere on the map to focus your character and press F to close the friend window. Voice stays active while you play. Only one chat room can use voice at a time.

If you are deafened, you cannot use Talk until you click Undeafen (see below).

Minimize or Close a Chat Room

Minimizing hides the chat window on screen but keeps you in the room — text and voice keep working. This is the normal way to play with voice while the window is hidden.

  • Minimize (_ button): Hides the window but keeps you in the room. Use this when you want the chat out of the way.
  • Close (X button): Leaves the room. The game asks you to confirm before closing.

You can open the same chat again from the friend list or when a friend sends a new message.

Find a Hidden Chat Room

If a chat window disappeared, it is probably minimized or you closed the Friend panel with F while still in the room. You are still connected — use the steps below to show the window again.

Windows List tab (in the friend panel)
  1. Press F to open the friend panel.
  2. Open the third tab — Windows List (after Friend List and Letter Box).
  3. Double-click the room name to show it again. Double-click again to hide it.
Windows List tab with a chat room selected Windows List tab — double-click a room to bring it back.
Quick bar at the bottom (F5)

Press F5 to open a small list of open chats at the bottom of the screen. Click a name once to show that chat.

Invite More Players

Turn a private chat into a group chat by inviting friends who are already on your friend list. A single room supports up to 16 players (including you).

  1. In the chat room, click Invite to open the invite list on the right.
  2. Click a friend in that list.
  3. Click Invite again to send the invitation.
Invite button in the chat room First click Invite to open the friend list panel.
Friend selected in invite panel Select a friend, then click Invite again to send.

The invited player gets a message in chat and can open the room from the friend panel or Windows List. They are not forced onto your screen automatically.

When you invite a 3rd player to a private chat, you become the group owner. The people you invited are not owners and cannot remove others.

Remove Players from a Group

This only works in a group chat with 3 or more players. A normal 1-on-1 chat has no remove button.

The group owner is the player who started the chat and invited the 3rd person. Only that player sees the X next to other members.

  1. In the chat room member list on the right, find the player name.
  2. Click the small X next to their name.
  3. Confirm when asked.
Kick button next to a player name X button — only for the group owner, after a 3rd player joined.

Deafen and Undeafen

Deafen mutes you completely — you cannot hear others and they cannot hear you. Use it when you need full silence.

  1. Press F to open the friend panel.
  2. Go to the Windows List tab (third tab).
  3. Click Deafen at the bottom. The button changes to Undeafen when deafen is on.
Deafen button on Windows List tab Deafen button on the Windows List tab.
Undeafen button on Windows List tab Click Undeafen to hear and speak again.

Guide matches in-game behavior: friend hotkey F, quick chat bar F5, Talk for chat/voice, Windows List tab for hidden rooms, close confirmation on X, group kick for the player who invited the 3rd member (group owner).

Level Restrictions

Blood Castle Character Level Magic Gladiator/Dark Lord Level
1 15-80 10-60
2 81-130 61-110

Blood Castle Gate & Statue HP

The table below shows the base HP for the Gate and Statue in each Blood Castle event. These values apply when playing solo (1 player).

Event Gate HP (Base) Statue HP (Base)
1650,000750,000
21,050,0001,500,000
31,450,0002,600,000
41,850,0003,250,000
52,250,0004,000,000
63,975,0007,200,000
7106,000,000126,000,000
How HP Scaling Works

When more players join the event, both the Gate and Statue HP increase by 50% per additional player. This makes the event harder but rewards teamwork.

Formula: Total HP = Base HP × (1 + (numPlayers - 1) × 50%)

Examples: 1 player = 100% HP (base) | 2 players = 150% HP | 3 players = 200% HP | 4 players = 250% HP

Weekly Top 3 Rewards

Every Monday, the top 3 players from the previous week in Blood Castle Level 6 and Level 7 receive extra bonus rewards on top of normal event loot.

  • How it works: Your total score during the week decides your rank. Play more and score higher to climb the leaderboard.
  • Separate rankings: Level 6 and Level 7 each have their own top 3 — you can compete in both.
  • One character per account: For each level, your account can only win once. If two of your characters would both be in the top 3, only the higher-ranked one gets rewarded — the other spot goes to the next player instead.
  • What you can win: A random bundle of WCoins, VIP time, jewels, boxes, and more.
  • How you receive them: Rewards are added automatically and you get a forum private message with the details.

Damage Colors

In combat, numbers float above characters. The color tells you what kind of hit it was — so you can spot crits, poison, misses, and more at a glance.

Stacked / bold numbers

Ignore defense and double damage often show as a bigger, stacked number in soft purple and bright yellow. If both happen on one hit, you still see both — double (yellow) is drawn first, then ignore defense (purple) on top so it stays easy to read.

Orange–yellow
Normal hit

Most damage you deal to monsters or other players shows in this color.

Red
You got hit

When the number appears on your character, that is damage you took.

Bright green
Excellent

A stronger-than-usual hit — your Excellent damage.

Blue
Critical

A critical strike — extra punch on that swing or spell.

Purple / magenta
Reflect, mirror, or similar

Damage that bounced back to the attacker, mirror effects, or stuck-style hits.

Pure green
Poison

Poison ticking on the target.

Lilac
Damage over time

Burns, bleeds, and other effects that keep hurting after the first hit.

Soft purple
Ignore defense

Part of the target’s defense was ignored on that hit.

Bright yellow
Double damage

That hit counted as double damage.

White
Miss (on you)

Someone missed you — you will see it on your character in white.

Gray
Miss (on someone else)

A miss on another player or monster shows in gray so you can tell it apart.

Colors follow the game client as closely as the website can. In-game they can look slightly different because of glow, size, and motion — that is normal.
